ABOUT SRIPAD

Sripad was founded on 6th June 1968 by Late founder Mr. P.S.Easwaran, who did his Practicum in Metallurgy in Germany and worked for Stahlwerk Südwestfalen (Brand: Zapp Fortuna) in the years 1958-1968. He signed up the agency agreement with Benteler Steel/Tube, Germany for marketing their seamless, welded and CDW tubes for automotive, boiler, engineering, heat exchanger, hydraulic, machine tool and petrochemical industrial segments.

Within a couple of years, Mr. Easwaran’s brother-in-law Mr.S.S.Mani joined him as co-partner and set up the Mumbai office.

Soon thereafter several steel mills approached him to represent them in the sub-continent. Subsequently, Sripad became the exclusive Indian agent for various European special steel producers. Sripad has full-fledged marketing offices in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Noida, Mumbai and Pune.

These offices are headed by sales directors, each with 50+ years of sales and marketing experience in marketing special steels and steel based industrial products. Our marketing engineers have excellent product and application knowledge and are well trained in India and abroad. Sripad has warehouses in Chennai & Panvel (near Mumbai) equipped with material handling and cutting facilities.

BENTELER STEEL/TUBE GMBH

  • Sripad Group founded by the Late Mr. P.S. Easwaran.
  • Introduced Benteler Steel/Tube GmbH in the Indian market.
  • Seamless/Welded tubes for the Automotive & Energy Sectors in India.
1973

Introduced R&G Schmoele Metallwerke and Karl Imhaeuser

  • Introduced R&G Schmoele Metallwerke and Karl Imhaeuser, Germany.
  • Non-Ferrous tubes for Autmotive Applications.
1974

Introduced Stahlwerk Westig GmbH.

  • Introduced Stahlwerk Westig GmbH.
  • High Grade Cold Rolled, Hardened & Tempered and Annealed Steel Strips, Wires etc for various applications.
1975

Introduced Fagersta AB, Sweden.

  • Introduced Fagersta AB, Sweden.
  • HSS, Stainless Steel Wire Rods, SS HR Strips.
1978

Introduced Baumann Springs Ltd

  • Introduced Baumann Springs Ltd, Germany, Singapore & Switzerland.
  • Compression, Torsion, Extention, Wire forms and stamped parts.
1982

Fagersta AB sold HSS division

  • Fagersta AB sold HSS division to Uddeholms AB to form Kloster Speedsteel AB / Sweden, world leader in High Speed Steels (HSS).
1984

introduced PM HSS in the Indian Market

  • Sripad supported Kloster Speedsteel AB / Sweden to introduce ASP branded PM HSS in the Indian market against competition from Japan & USA.
  • Sripad incorporated Federn Fabrik – for manufacturing of springs with imported machinery.
1985

Uddeholm Tool Steels

  • Uddeholm Tooling AB and Associated Swedish Steels AB (ASSAB) signed an agreement with Sripad to market Uddeholm Tool Steels.
1986

SSAB Oxelosund AB

  • Orient Impex, a group company of Sripad, signed Agency Agreement with SSAB Oxelosund AB Sweden to market their Hardox and Weldox wear resistant steel plates.
1994

ASSAB Sripad Steels

  • Agency Agreement with Uddeholm & ASSAB was converted into a Joint Venture Agreement and ASSAB Sripad Steels was incorporated.
  • Steel service warehouses established in Chennai, Panvel, Noida and Hyderabad.
  • In-house Vacuum Heat Treatment facility set up in Chennai & Panvel (Mumbai). The furnaces were supplied by ALD Germany, Rubig Austria and Schmetz Germany.
1995

Fagersta Stainless AB

  • Fagersta Stainless AB was taken over by Sandvik (Sweden) and Outo Kumpu (Finland).
  • Sandvik Asia Limited took over the marketing of Fagersta Stainless AB.
1995

Bilstein Group

  • Sripad commenced marketing of high grade hardened & tempered cold rolled steel strips manufactured by Hugo Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG, Germany.
  • Later on, Bilstein Group (Owner of Hugo Vogelsang) entrusted Sripad Steels with marketing of their entire range of CR Strips.
2003

Joint Venture With Erasteel SA France

  • JV with Erasteel SA France to form Erasteel India Pvt. Ltd. Erasteel HSS materials are stocked in our Panvel (near Mumbai) warehouse.
2013

Assab International AB & Sripad Steels

  • JV between Assab International AB & Sripad Steels Pvt Ltd ended on 17th July 2013 with mutual agreement.
  • On 30th Nov, 2013, Agency Agreement with Baumann, Switzerland ended as mutually agreed for facilitating the incorporation of Baumann, India as a separate company.
2014

Exclusive Distribution With BGH / Germany & FEDERTECHNIC / SWISS

  • Sripad signed Exclusive Distribution Agreement with BGH / Germany for forged and rolled high nickel chromium alloy bars for the oil & gas industries and agency agreement with FTK /Switzerland for marketing their coil springs, wire forms, stamped & blanked parts in India.
2019

Agency Agreement With Galperti Group

  • Galperti Group, Italy and Sripad signed agency agreement to market Galperti’s forged fittings, flanges and slew bearings in India.
